Supporting Young People

Young people are particularly vulnerable to grief due to their developing emotional regulation skills, which can make processing intense feelings of loss challenging. Additionally, the critical period of identity formation, potential lack of strong social support, and increased risk of mental health issues exacerbate their vulnerability during times of grief.

This initiative aims to equip young people skills to become death literate. They have an evidence-based grief education program, publications and a school curriculum.

This page provides information on grief and provides strategies on coping with it.

headspace is a youth mental health service. This page provides practical tips on how to help young people who are grieving.

A Dose of Grief acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and grow, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We celebrate the diversity of Aboriginal peoples and their ongoing connection to culture and contributions to both healthcare and deathcare.
